Hillsboro Medical Center recently completed a $12.5 million expansion. HMC has services for every member of the family at every stage of life including MeritCare Clinic, a hospital, Comstock Corner Assisted Living Apartments, and a long-term, skilled care facility.
Sanford Clinic
The Clinic is located in Hillsboro Medical Center. The Sanford Clinic is staffed by Charles Breen, MD, Tim Luithle, MD, and Ann Owens, PA-C.
Dr. Breen is a primary care doctor trained in the needs of the whole family. He received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Grand Forks, ND and did his residency at University of North Dakota Family Practice Center in Bismarck, ND.
Dr. Luithle is a family medicine physician qualified to care for general health concerns of the entire family. His medical degree is from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Grand Forks, ND. Dr. Luithle did his residency at the UND Family Practice Center in Bismarck, ND.
Ann Owens is a physician assistant, trained in the major areas of family medicine and qualified to care for most medical needs of the whole family. She received her degree in physician assistant studies from the University of North Dakota and completed clinical clerkships at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, and Orthopedic Associates in Fargo.

Comstock Corner
Comstock Corner, Hillsboro Medical Center’s newly opened assisted living apartments; bring the best in active senior living together to serve its residents. Each apartment in Comstock Corner has one-bedroom, in 526 square feet. They include a kitchen with a refrigerator and range, full bath with walk-in shower, linen storage, and window treatments.
Comstock Corner is a smoke-free environment. It has centrally located mailboxes and a sleeping room available to family members.

Long-term Skilled Care
Hillsboro Medical Center has a Medicare/Medicaid Skill Nursing facility providing nursing services, homemade meals, housekeeping, laundry, and activities for residents. Residents can attend sports and arts events at the nearby Hillsboro Schools. Plus, students participate in activities at HMC.
